Glacier National Park
We had one day out to Glacier National Park.
Hiking: Bear Creek Falls
We stopped at Bear Creek Falls, this hike is only .8 miles with 150 feet elevation change. The beginning of this hike is extremely steep and the stairs at the end need some maintenance. Our youngest was 4 at the time of this hike, I wouldn’t do this with younger kids expecting them to walk, and I wouldn’t do it with a baby carrier. When you get to the bottom you are so close to the falls, so the kids had a great time getting hit with the spray and playing at the bottom. But the walk down will require hand holding, and the walk up will require some pulling to get younger ones back to the parking lot!
Rogers Pass Discovery Center
Glacier’s visitor center Rogers Pass Discovery Center is one of the best we’ve visited in Canadian parks. They had several exhibits including a fun animal track one for the kids. They also had a film about managing avalanches in the park that we all enjoyed. Our kids got a kick out of asking the rangers about the “green” roof on the building. We enjoyed our visit to Glacier National Park, but I would skip this one if you are staying in the area for a short time.
